Group One winner Abbey Marie has fetched $1.4 million at the opening session of the National Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast

The five-year-old was the sixth horse through the Magic Millions ring on Tuesday and went to the bid of Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock and Freyer Bloodstock.

Trained by Mick Kent to win the 2015 Schweppes Oaks at Morphettville, Abbey Marie most recently finished fourth in the Group One Doomben Cup.

By Redoute's Choice out of Catshaan, Abbey Marie is a full sister to Absolutely who Kent trained to win the 2011 Australian Oaks.

She is also a half-sister to recent VRC St Leger winner Runaway.
