The decision to ride filly Another Dollar back in the field has opened the door for a fascinating battle of tactics in the Group Two The Roses (2000m) at Doomben.
Another Dollar was second to Torvill in the Listed Aquis Bracelet at Doomben two weeks ago after being caught deep without cover.
Torvill was able to get cover back in the field and then swamped Another Dollar in the final 200m.
Trainer Chris Waller was looking forward to the rematch before the barriers were allocated
Another Dollar has drawn barrier 15 with Torvill in barrier 18.
The 2000m start at Doomben can be awkward for horses drawn wide as they can get pushed deep on the first turn and stay there.
Waller's Queensland stable manager Paul Shailer said it would take a clever ride from Jeff Lloyd for Another Dollar to win on Saturday.
"One thing is we won't be going forward and using her up," Shailer said.
"Our aim in the (Group One) Queensland Oaks in two weeks time. We want to have a filly left for that race and we won't have if she is given a tough run up on the pace."
"Don't forget she has had only five runs but she just keeps improving."
The Waller camp will also have promising Youngstar in the The Roses and she is also on an Oaks trail.
"She has won her past two starts at Hawkesbury and Newcastle and we are expecting her to step up to better races," Shailer said.
Torvill's trainer Clarry Conners will be back from his trip to the Kentucky Derby to oversee the filly's bid for another win.
