Last Weeks AFL Tips - Betting Man
12 from 20 last week was a fair result with the big upsets and the Eagles did us proud @ 4.0's with the margin bet.
No luck with either of the best bets this week with both going down and the multi didn't fair much better with only two from four.

FRIDAY 25TH MAY 2018
Collingwood 1.40 v Western Bulldogs 3.00
TIP - Margin Collingwood 1-24 @ 3.15
Collingwood made it three wins from their last five when defeating St Kilda last week, the game was in the balance until the Pies stormed ahead in the third term which pretty much sealed the win for them.
The Pies move up to 10th on the ladder but are on equal points with three teams above them so a win here could well sell them move into the top eight.
The Bulldogs after three straight wins lost last week when they traveled to Adelaide to take on the Crows, the game was marred by the weather and in a low scoring contest it was the Crows who prevailed 63-26.
With other teams losing above them the Bulldogs still find themselves in touching distance of the top eight but another loss here could make things tough for them in regards playing finals footy this season.
Verdict - Both teams have relatively good form coming in but against the poorer sides, preference is for the Pies to take the win in a close game.
SATURDAY 26TH MAY 2018
Richmond 1.06 v St Kilda 9.00
TIP - Margin Richmond 1-39 @ 2.75
Richmond slip to second place on the ladder after losing their top of the table clash against the Eagles last week 130-83, the game was in the balance at half time but the Eagles kicked on in the second half to win impressively.
The Tigers will be disappointed with the loss but they are in a very good position to once again finish in the top four and try to make it back to back flags.
St Kilda suffered another loss last week against the Pies which was their seventh of the season and with only one win and a draw to their name in 2018 they find themselves 14 points adrift of 8th place.
The Saints played relatively well last week in their 100-72 loss but that will come as little comfort to a side that already looks like they are just playing for pride until the end of the season.
Verdict - Should be a Tigers win but it may not be a route so we will take the better odds that the Saints can keep the margin to under 40.
Brisbane 3.70 v Sydney 1.28
TIP - Margin Sydney 1-39 @ 2.10
The Lions claimed their first win of the 2018 season last week against the Hawks and to be fair it was probably due going by recent performances but the manner of the win was rather unexpected.
The match finished 129-73 after Brisbane powered away in the second half which if you look at previous results for the Lions this season when they have been in contention at half time they are the ones who usually fall away dramatically.
Sydney made it three wins from their last five outings last week when they made light work of the visiting Fremantle, the game finished 111-52 with the Swans dominating the game throughout with the help of star forward Buddy Franklin after his absence in recent weeks.
The Swans could find themselves in the top four with a win here if results elsewhere go their way so they will be fully committed and will also not be taking the Lions lightly after last weeks result.
Verdict - Expect the Swans to win but they Lions may well stay with them for a while on the scoreboard.
Geelong 1.05 v Carlton 10.00
TIP - Margin Geelong 1-39 @ 2.90
Geelong suffered a somewhat shock defeat last week when they went up against the Bombers at the MCG, in a game the Cats were supposed to dominate the game finished 84-50 to the Bombers and to be honest the Cats never even got into the game after a slow start.
That loss sees Geelong slip down to 8th on the ladder and they will be thinking themselves lucky they didn't drop further down thanks to teams around them losing too.
Carlton after their win in round 8 against the Bombers once again find themselves at the foot of the ladder after the Demons brushed them aside 159-50.
Carlton held their own in the first term but looked sluggish thereafter and the game went away from them as the Demons pushed on.
Verdict - The Cats should win this but a chance is taken on the Blues to keep them under a margin of 40, the Cats are not the biggest scorers this season so the odds look value.
GWS Giants 1.42 v Essendon 2.90 - BEST BET
TIP - Margin GWS Giants 25+ @ 2.30
GWS find themselves down in 11th on the ladder after only one win in their last five, last weeks game against the Kangaroos finished 112-69 in North's favour after the Giants failed to show up in the second half.
After such a good start to the season you would have put your house on the Giants finishing in the top four but they now find themselves in need of a win just to keep pace with the top eight.
Essendon after losing to Carlton in round 8 bounced back last week in style and showed that there is life in the old dog yet when they humbled the Cats 84-50.
The Bombers performed like the team that was touted before the season began playing quick impressive footy but it may be to little to late.
Verdict - GWS need a win and with the Bombers unable to string two decent results together this season they may well run into the Bombers that often get a hiding.
Hawthorn 2.15 v West Coast 1.70
TIP - Margin West Coast 1-24 @ 3.20
Hawthorn slip outside the top eight after their surprise loss against the Lions last week and they may well be scratching their heads as to what went wrong up at the Gabba.
The game finished 129-73 after the Lions surged clear in the second half condemning the Hawks to their third loss in five games.
West Coast find themselves heading the rest at the top of the ladder after last weeks crunch game against the Tigers at the Optus Stadium.
With the game in the balance at half time the Eagles kicked seven goals in the third term to take control of the game and more of the same in the last term gave them a deserved victory.
Verdict - You cannot go past the Eagles, their form is solid and the Hawks are struggling so the logical choice has to be the away team.
Melbourne 1.82 v Adelaide 2.00
TIP - Margin Adelaide 25+ @ 3.95
Another impressive win from the Demons last week against struggling Carlton sees them move up to third on the ladder but their is a glut of teams stacked up behind them.
This will be a real test for Melbourne as all their recent wins have come at the expense of the struggling teams so the question is can the Demons take it to the big boys this season!!
Adelaide made it four wins from five games when they took on the Bulldogs last week in a rain affected game which made scoring difficult.
The game finished 63-26 and as you wold expect in the conditions is was the small forwards who came to the fore, Eddy Betts standing out kicking 4.0.
Verdict - I'm more than happy to take on the Demons at that price due to the teams they have beaten recently not being up to much.
SUNDAY 27TH MAY 2018
Fremantle 1.82 v North Melbourne 2.00
TIP - Margin North Melbourne 25+ @ 4.00 - BEST BET
The Dockers find themselves slipping down the ladder after losing three of their last four contests, last weeks defeat against the Swans might have been a sign of things to come as the team looked jaded for most of the game.
The Dockers always struggled in their 111-52 loss and with three tough assignments coming up they will need to find more energy if they are to stay afloat.
North Melbourne move up to 7th on the ladder after dismantling the Giants on the way to a 112-69 victory last week.
The Kangaroos will be brimming with confidence after one of if not their best performance of the season and they will expect to take the points here.
Verdict - North have the better form by far and look way way overs here, if they play in the same fashion as they did last week the 4.00 looks huge to win by over 25 points.
