Sydney 1.06 v Carlton 10.00
TIP - Margin Sydney 40+ @ 1.51
Sydney after three consecutive wins find themselves back in the top four and with two seemingly easy games this week and next before they play the Eagles they will want to take full advantage of weak opposition.
The Swans were made to work last week in their 67-49 victory at the Gabba against the Lions but they always looked to have things under control in the low scoring affair.
Carlton suffered yet another defeat last week this time at the hands of the Cats in another low scoring affair which finished 73-45.
Although the Blues lost the contest they will take a few positives from the game after competing throughout, three late goals from the Cats made all the difference after Carlton put themselves in a fair position for only their second victory.
Verdict - The Swans will want to win this and put some points on the board to better their current percentage and if all goes to form they should win well.
Saturday 2nd June 2018
Western Bulldogs 4.85 v Melbourne 1.19
TIP - Margin Melbourne 25+ @ 1.63
After putting a decent run together the Bulldogs have now lost their last two fixtures after going down 90-55 against Collingwood last week in a game they will most likely want to forget.
The Bulldogs dominated the first term and while the Pies clawed their way back into the game in the second quarter the Bulldogs still held an 18 point lead at half time only for them to literally not turn up in the second half only managing to score four points the last two quarters.
Melbourne go from strength to strength and made it five wins on the spin last week when they tore apart the Crows beating them 146-55.
With performances such as that it is quite conceivable that the Demons can mount a serious challenge this season and possibly go all the way.
Verdict - The Demons are hot hot hot at the moment and another performance like they put in last week is all that is needed here.
Hawthorn 1.98 v Port Adelaide 1.84
TIP - Margin Port Adfelaide 25+ @ 3.75
Hawthorn as predicted at the start of the season are not the force of old and in recent weeks this has come to the fore with them losing their last three games.
A fair effort last week against the Eagles eventually losing out 75-60 but with that loss the Hawks slip down to 10th on the ladder and they quickly need to find that winning feeling again before it is too late.
Port Adelaide come into this fresh off a bye last week and with them winning their last two matches previously you would expect a solid showing after their week off.
Port sit 9th on the ladder but do have a game in hand and a win here would put them in a good position in regards finals football this season.
Verdict - Could go either way so I am going to back the fresh team carrying better form into the fixture which is Port Adelaide.
Gold Coast 3.15 v Geelong 1.37 - BEST BET
TIP - Margin Geelong 40+ @ 3.40
After losing four on the spin the Suns had a week on the sidelines last week and for them the break could not have come at a better time.
They will be rested and fresh for this encounter and hopefully that will be enough for them to perform at the best of their ability here and try and get their season back on track.
Geelong got back to winning ways last week against Carlton but they looked like a tram that needed a freshen up so their bye week will be well received in a few weeks time.
The game was in the balance until the Cats kicked clear late in the final term and while the performance was nothing to brag about they take four points all the same.
Verdict - Geelong are far the superior team and I do not think the Suns after their break will trouble them that much in this one.
Essendon 3.05 v Richmond 1.39
TIP - Margin Richmond 40+ @ 3.50
The Bombers have finally woken up from their slumber in recent weeks and now find themselves in a position to at least have a go at the top eight after two consecutive wins.
Essendon made light work of the Giants last week in their 95-60 away win and they will be more than happy with the performance and the way they finished the game off in the last quarter.
Richmond after suffering defeat against the Eagles in round 9 got back to winning ways last week beating the Saints 105-77, the Tigers were not at their best but they always had the game under control.
The Tigers have several tough fixtures coming their way so they will need to be at their best if they are to keep pace with the Eagles who now site above them on the ladder.
Verdict - Richmond haven't been at their best in recent weeks but I expect them to win this and I am taking a punt that the Bombers will go backwards after their recent successes enabling the Tigers to win well.
West Coast 1.05 v St Kilda 11.00
TIP - Margin West Coast 40+ @ 1.51
The Eagles maintained their recent run of results last week beating the Hawks on the road 75-60 in a grueling scrappy affair at Etihad Stadium.
The first half saw both teams hold the lead but midway through the second term it was the Eagles who started to control the game and once back in front always looked the likely winner.
St Kilda suffered yet another loss last week this time at the hands of last years champions the Tigers, the game finished 105-77 and although the Saints acquitted themselves well in defeat they never looked like taking the points.
With the Saints picking up only one win from their first ten games we can safely assume they will not contest the finals this season but they will want to pick up a few more wins before they are finished.
Verdict - Has to be the Eagles here and if recent efforts are anything to go by then this should be very much a one sided affair.
Sunday 3rd June 2018
North Melbourne 1.28 v Brisbane Lions 3.75
TIP - Margin North Melbourne 40+ @ 2.75 - BEST BET
Another win last week for the Kangaroos against the Dockers moves them up to fifth on the ladder and well placed to challenge the top four in the latter part of the season.
Last weeks 86-58 victory at the Optus Stadium was no cake walk after a sloppy first half but North dug deep in the second half to emerge worthy victors.
Brisbane after shocking the Hawks in round 9 had another tough assignment last week when the Swans came to town and although the Lions lost the game 67-49 they once again showed that they are a side on the improve.
It has been a long time since Brisbane put a decent run together and although it doesn't reflect so much on the ladder they have shown enough in their last four or five outings to suggest they will win a few more before the season is out.
Verdict - The Lions will have to be at the top of their game if they are to keep pace with the Kangaroos and while they are improving I don't think they have the fire power to stay with the home side on the scoreboard.
Collingwood 1.22 v Fremantle 4.35
TIP - Margin Collingwood 1-39 @ 2.15
After their poor start to the season recent results have seen the Pies climb up the ladder and now they find themselves in the top eight and pushing the teams above them.
Last weeks 90-55 win over the Doggies shows how fr they have come in recent weeks and another win here will set them up nicely before they take on the Demons next week.
Fremantle suffered yet another defeat last week making it four losses from their last five games and they now find themselves 13th on the ladder and eight points behind 8th place.
The Dockers seemed to run out of steam last week against North Melbourne in the second half and with no bye until round 14 they may well struggle until they get a break.
Verdict - The Pies are in fine form while the Dockers are struggling so their should only be one outcome here.
Adelaide 1.32 v GWS Giants 3.45
TIP - Margin Adelaide 25+ @ 2.05
Adelaide were taken apart in last weeks game against the Demons losing the contest 146-55 and they have now slipped to 7th on the ladder after losing two of their last three games.
The Crows have a couple of tricky games coming their way so they will need to take advantage when they are at home in front of their home support.
The wheels at GWS have really fallen off in recent weeks and after four straight defeats they find themselves down to 11th on the ladder six points behind eighth.
With the Suns at home next week before their given a break in round 13 they will welcome at least one win from their next two, they should take care of the Suns and with the Crows seemingly out of touch last week may feel they can also have a say in this one.
Verdict - On recent form you just cannot trust the Giants so preference is for the Crows to bounce back after lasts weeks poor performance.
