Geelong 1.44 v GWS  2.85

TIP - Margin Cats 25+ @ 2.40

Geelong have lost three out of their last five games after last weeks loss at home to the Swans. The Cats looked all but home at the start of the final term but they let slip a 22 point advantage going down 86-69 at the final whistle.

With the ladder so bunched up this year those four points could prove to be vital come the end of the season and they will know it was an opportunity missed.

GWS after their draw in round 5 got back to winning ways last week with a relatively comfortable win against the Lions with the match finishing 77-43 in a low scoring affair.

The Giants are well placed in third only two points off the lead and they will bolster their top four credentials with a win here against one of their main rivals.

Verdict - With home advantage it may well be worth siding with the Cats in this one, they are sure to be seething from last week and may but the Giants to the sword.

Western Bulldogs 1.14 v Gold Coast 6.00

TIP Margin Suns 1-24 @ 7.50

The Bulldogs claimed their second victory of the season last week beating Carlton 80-59 in a game they were always in control of leading in each of the four quarters.

Although the Bulldogs came away with the four points they will be a little disappointed in the manner in which they played as it was not a classic performance by all means but as they say a win is a win.

The Suns have now lost three of their last four outings after losing last weeks clash on the road against the Crows 110-62.

After a slow start the Suns could not peg the Crows back and by half time the game was all but over with the Crows punishing the Suns many handling errors,  if they are to take anything from this game they will have to use the ball better this week.

Verdict - The Bulldogs should win but they are priced so short it is worth taking them on by backing the Suns, The Bulldogs have put in some shocking efforts this season and it will not take much from the Suns if they are poor once again, take the value

Essendon 2.45 v Hawthorn 1.57 - BEST BET

TIP Margin Hawks 25+ @ 2.63

The Bombers poor season continued last week as they were once again soundly beaten, this time it was the Demons who put Essendon to the sword and powered away in the second half to a 108-72 victory.

The game was in the balance after a tight first two quarters but in the second half the Bombers were outclassed and looked sluggish an disinterested. Questions are already being asked of the players and their effort levels and if they do not rectify the problem soon you may well see new faces in the weeks to come.

Hawthorn are ticking along nicely after last weeks comfortable win against the Saints and now sit fourth on the ladder with four wins and two losses this season.

Although the Hawks are yet to set the league on fire this year they still manage to grind out victories even when they are not performing at their best.

Verdict - Has to be the Hawks in this one with the Bombers seemingly going backwards and it may well be wise to take the Hawks with a big margin in mind.

West Coast 1.69 v Port Adelaide 2.20

TIP Margin Eagles 25+ @ 3.10

In the WA derby against the Dockers last week it was the Eagles that narrowly came out on top winning a close contest 89-81, five straight now for the Eagles with their only loss of the season coming in round 1.

The Eagles will be more than happy with that performance after coming back after slow start and keeping their nerve in a game that was always tight in the second half.

Port after losing two on the spin bounced back to winning ways last week when they defeated North Melbourne 102-69 controlling the game throughout.

Port will know that they will have to be on top form against the Eagles especially since they are the ones on the road and nothing short of their best will be needed here.

Verdict - Eagles flying high and I would expect them to make it six on the bounce here with home advantage.

Sydney 1.18 v North Melbourne 5.00

TIP Margin Swans 1-24 @ 3.60

Sydney came back from the dead last week when they beat the Cats 86-69 after a devastating last quarter performance saw them kick seven goals in the final term to secure the four points.

With Buddy Franklin on the sidelines it was Will Hayward who stood up to the task kicking three goals with Josh Kennedy also standing out with 33 disposals. Excellent effort by the Swans and if they can repeat that here for the full game then they will blow their opposition away.

After last weeks loss North Melbourne still sit inside the top eight but only just after losing at home to Port Adelaide.

The game eventually finished 102-69 and was dominated throughout by the Power and the Kangaroos will have to put up a much improved effort if they are to stay with the Swans in this one.

Verdict - The Swans should be too good for North but it may well be tighter than the bookies predict especially if the reproduce their effort against the Hawks in round 5.

Adelaide 1.05 v Carlton 11.00

TIP Margin Crows 1-24 @ 6.00

Four wins out of their last five for the Crows now after they easily took care of the Suns last week eventually coming out on top 110-62.

The Crows sit just outside the top four in fifth place and they will be looking to improve their percentage here with a decent sized victory.

Carlton are still without a win this season after losing all of their six games to date this season. last weeks performance was no better than before with the never in the game against the Bulldogs.

The fans will be baying for blood if the trend continues and I am pretty sure we will see some new faces in the coming weeks as the Blues look at every angle to try and gain their first win of the season.

Verdict - Has to be the Crows for the win but absolutely no value, they should win and win by a huge margin but at $6.00 you may as well have a small wager that Carlton are not in the mood to be flogged and can keep the Crows to within 24 points.

Richmond 1.13 v Fremantle 6.00

TIP Margin Tigers 1-24 @ 3.75

Richmond are showing last year was no fluke and sit at the top of the ladder on 20 points after last weeks 113-70 win against Collingwood.

The game was in the balance at the start of the last term and not for the first time this season the Tigers dug deep and found another gear to eventually come out comfortable winners.

Fremantle although losing their match last week put up a solid effort against the Eagles eventually going down 89-81 and they will take a few positives from the game.

The Dockers will be happy with the way they have started the season winning three out of their opening six but they will want to put pressure on the teams above them and they will have to win a few on the road to do so.

Verdict - Should be another win for the Tigers but the Dockers showed they can mix it with the top teams last week so they may not get a flogging in defeat.

St Kilda 3.25 v Melbourne 1.35

TIP Margin Demons 25+ @ 2.10

After their luckless draw in round 5 the Saints could not maintain that level of performance last week going down to the Hawks 89-54 in a game that was always looking beyond them.

More is needed from the Saints if they are not to be left behind this season and it is games like this that they will have to take something from if they are to keep the pace.

Melbourne after two straight losses got back to winning ways last week defeating the Bombers 108-72 thanks to a superb second half performance from all the players involved.

The Demons will see this as another perfect opportunity to take four points and nothing short of a win will be good enough if they are to keep pace with the top eight.

Verdict - The Demons should win this one with something to spare and could have it wrapped up by half time.

Brisbane 3.40 v Collingwood 1.32

TIP - Margin Pies 25+ @ 2.00 - BEST BET

The Lions are still searching for their first win of the season after going down once again in round 6 this time at the hands of the Giants 77-43.

More is needed from their young squad if they are to get off the mark and they have to take advantage of their home games against teams like this.

Collingwood after three successive wins came crashing back down to earth last week when they lost their round 6 match 113-70 against the reigning champs Richmond.

The Pies will see this as the perfect opportunity to bounce back to winning ways in a bid to keep on the coat tails of the top eight.

Verdict - Brisbane are out of sorts and this should be a comfortable victory for Collingwood if they put their best foot forward.
