Southampton v Chelsea

Home 4.33 - Draw 3.50 - Away 1.83

Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.98

Southampton put up a fair effort last week going down 3-2 away against Arsenal but although the performance was a positive one they still came away with no points.

Three defeats on the spin now for the Saints and they find themselves three points from safety with only six games remaining, time is running out and they need win.

Chelsea after a poor run of form find themselves now looking over their shoulder as Arsenal mount a challenge for the last European place.

The reigning Premier League champions once again put in a below par performance at home to West Ham with the game finishing 1-1, Chelsea created enough chances to win the game but they could not convert their opportunities which has been the story of their season.

Verdict - Chelsea are a class above their opposition on their day and they should win if they play to their normal standard.

Crystal Palace v Brighton

Home 1.83 Draw 3.30 Away 4.33

Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.58

Palace will be kicking themselves after last weeks 2-2 on the road against Bournemouth after conceding a late goal to deny them of all three points.

They will however be please with the away point and the fact that they are three points clear of Southampton with a better goal different but it is very tight at the bottom and they need to take advantage of home fixtures like this one.

Brighton secured another point and move six points clear of the relegation zone last week when holding Huddersfield to a 1-1 draw at home with ten men.

Big game for Brighton this one as another three points will almost certainly see them safe from the drop but they would also be happy with a draw here.

Verdict - No doubt this will be a very cagey affair with neither team wanting to lose so the obvious option is a draw.

Burnley v Leicester

Home 2.60 - Draw 3.00 - Away 2.70 - BEST BET

Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.55

Burnley made it four wins on the spin last week when they took all three points on the road against Watford after coming from behind to win 2-1.

Two quick goals in the 70th and 73rd minute secured the points for Burnley keeping up their slim hopes of catching Chelsea in fifth place.

Leicester suffered a some what surprising loss last week against Newcastle at home 2-1, James Vardy scored in the 84th minute to reduce the deficit but the Foxes failed to find the equiliser in the dying minutes.

No real harm done for Leicester, they are safe from the drop and they are only playing for a top eight position with Everton being their only real danger.

Verdict - A very even game this one with both teams having promising seasons, evenly matched affair so the draw looks a solid bet.

Swansea v Everton

Home 2.40 - Draw 3.10 - Away 2.88

Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.58

No win in three now for Swansea after they failed to beat bottom side West Brom last week, the game finished 1-1 which would be somewhat of a disappointment for Swansea but they will be pleased that they managed to take a point after falling behind.

The Swans are now four points clear of the drop zone with last weeks point to it may well be invaluable come the end of the season but they will need another win to ease the pressure.

Everton will be happy with the point against the old enemy last week and the fact that the y managed to subdue one of the best attacking teams in the league but they will also be disappointed that they never took the three points in their 0-0 draw after creating several clear cut chances in the last 15 minutes.

With the fans still unsure of the decision to appoint Sam Allardyce the club will be hoping for a strong finish to the season to validate their choice.

Verdict - Swansea have shown enough lately to suggest they can take something from this game especially since on home turf so a draw is the safe option.

Huddersfield  v Watford

Home 2.50Draw 3.00 - Away 2.80

Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.20

Huge game for Huddersfield after failing to win last week against Brighton, the game finished 1-1 and they will be glad of the point as it takes them four points clear of Southampton who occupy the last relegation spot.

Huddersfield's home game results may well be the deciding factor at the end of the season whether or not they stay in the Premier League so  three points here is a must.

Watford after losing three of their last four games are still not safe from the drop and they will be looking at games like this to secure their premier league status for next season.

Watford will come here hoping to take at least a point from the game which may well be enough for them but they will not want to lose against a team that is below them in the league.

Verdict - More on the line here for Huddersfield than their opponents so preference is for the home side to take the three points.

Liverpool v Bournemouth

Home 1.17Draw 6.50 - Away 10.0

Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.34

Liverpool after their 0-0 draw last week against Everton find themselves four points behind Man Utd now in the race for second spot with Spurs now level on points with the Reds in fourth.

Liverpool may well have been a little under par due to their heroics against Man City during the week in the Champions League when they won 3-0 in the first leg.

Bournemouth secured a 2-2 draw at home last week when they equalised with minutes to spare against Crystal Palace after twice falling behind.

The Cherries sit in 11th on 38 points and with the bottom teams failing to win in recent weeks in all honesty that should be enough to avoid the drop.

Verdict - Expect Liverpool to put on a better performance this week and in doing so should win comfortably.

Tottenham v Man City

Home 2.40 - Draw 3.40 - Away 2.60

Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.60 - BEST BET

Tottenham after six wins on the spin should almost certainly finish in the top four once again this season after Chelsea dropped points once again last week.

Last weeks 2-1 win away at Stoke moved Spurs level with Liverpool on 67 points with Man Utd a further four points clear in second, Spurs will still have one eye on second place but in reality job done once again for this season.

Man City have had probably their worst week in recent memory after going down 3-0 in the opening leg of their Champions League quarter final against Liverpool and then blowing a 2-0 lead against Man Utd in the league to win the title.

Questions will be asked of City this week and some have said they are a world champion boxer but have a glass jaw after their failing this week and you would have to agree.

Verdict - Should be a classic with both teams playing good attacking football and I expect this game to be a real humdinger with City to come out on top.

Newcastle v Arsenal

Home 3.20 - Draw 3.30 - Away 2.00

Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.77

Newcastle with their third win in as many games now find themselves sitting pretty in 11th place on 38 points and probably safe from the drop.

Last weeks 2-1 win away against Leicester would have taken all the pressure of the team and manager Rafa Benitez for the remainder of the season but the Magpies will want to continue their good form and climb a little higher up the table.

Arsenal also come into this game off the back of three consecutive wins after beating Southampton 3-2 at home last week, two goals from Danny Wellbeck including the winner after being pegged back twice for the lead by the Saints were enough to secure the three points.

With Chelsea failing to win in their last two games Arsenal are now only three points behind them and may still have a chance of clinching the last European place, that is if they do not qualify bu winning the Europa Cup.

Verdict - Arsenal are back in fine fettle and I expect them to be too good for Newcastle here and should take the points.

Man Utd v West Brom

Home 1.12 - Draw 6.50 Away 18.0

Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.61

Man Utd's sole target last week against champions elect Man City was not to lose the game but at half time that looked impossible as City were 2-0 and in reality should have had five but to their credit Man Utd dug deep and turned things around to win 3-2.

City will still go onto win the league but at least it wasn't at due to the fact that they beat Utd and that is a small win for the Reds after a in and out season.

West Brom can still mathematically stay up but they will need to win all five remaining games and cross their fingers and hope for results to go their way elsewhere.

In reality they are pretty much relegated but at least they managed a draw last week against Swansea after the sacking of their manager.

Verdict - Cannot go past Man Utd in this one, it should be an easy three points and possibly the final nail in the coffin for West Brom.

West Ham v Stoke

Home 1.91 - Draw 3.25 - Away 3.60

Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.11

Is David Moyes finally starting to turn things around at West Ham?? After beating Southampton 3-0 the Hammers went on the road to local rivals Chelsea and came away with a valuable point.

The Hammers are now six points clear of the relegation zone and with the way things are panning out another win may well be enough to ensure their survival.

Stoke after losing once again last week have an uphill task in regards dragging themselves out of the relegation zone.

Four points from safety with only five games left and an inferior goal difference suggests Stoke will find it hard to turn things around.

Verdict - Perfect opportunity for the Hammers to take all three points and save their season, comfortable home win for me.
