SATURDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER 2018
Tottenham v Liverpool
Home 2.68 - Draw 3.40 - Away 2.38
Under 2.5 Goals @ 2.22
Correct Score | Draw 1-1 @ 6.40
After winning their opening three fixtures Spurs headed to Vicarage Road last time out to take on unbeaten Watford and although Spurs were heavy favourites to take the points they went down 2-1 after taking the lead.
Tottenham will think that is three points lost and they can ill afford to lose games of that nature if they are to challenge the likes of Man City and Chelsea this season for the title.
Liverpool sit top of the table after maintaining their 100% record against Leicester last time out coming away from The King Power Stadium with a hard fought 2-1 victory.
Liverpool took a 2-0 lead into the half time break and looked comfortable but a blunder by Alisson in Liverpool goal let the home team back into the game with 25 minutes to go however The Reds held on to take the points.
Verdict - Both teams will not want to drop points here, both potential title challengers so it may well be cagey and a draw may well suit both teams
SUNDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER 2018
Newcastle v Arsenal
Home 3.90 - Draw 3.50 - Away 1.37
Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.69
Correct Score | Arsenal 3-1 @ 12.00
After two losses on the trot Newcastle had the daunting task of heading to the Etihad Stadium to take on Man City and although they lost 2-1 it was a much improved effort by Rafa Benitez's men
Not the best start to the season for Newcastle with only one point on the board after their opening four games, they will have to start picking up points soon if they are to avoid another relegation battle this season.
Arsenal after a shaky start to the season losing both their opening fixtures under new manager Unai Emery made it back to back wins when beating Cardiff 3-2 at Cardiff City Stadium in a real thriller.
After taking the lead twice and being pegged back twice by the home team Arsenal finally secured the three points with ten minutes to go via a Alexandre Lacazette goal, the question on everyone's tongue is "Are Arsenal better under Emery than they were last season", the jury is still out on that one but time will tell!!
Verdict - Arsenal look like they are starting to gem but are still a bit frail at the back, they should have too much class for Newcastle but the home team may well have a few chances at goal.
Huddersfield v Crystal Palace
Home 3.00 - Draw 2.94 - Away 2.38
Under 2.5 Goals @ 2.26
Correct Score | Crystal Palace 2-0 @ 7.80
Huddersfield travelled to Goodison Park last time out looking to pick up their first away points of the season and although they did not win they performed well to earn a 1-1 draw.
Huddersfield after shipping nine goals in their opening two fixtures look like they have turned things around after back to back draws but they will want to pick up their first in of the season here.
Palace have now lost their last three games after losing their home tie against Southampton 2-0 last time out and Roy Hodgson will be a little worried already about the remainder of the season and what is has in store for his team.
Apart from their latest defeat they have performed pretty well without picking up points against Liverpool and Watford so it's not panic stations just yet but they will need something to show for good performances soon.
Verdict - It has draw written all over it this one but Palace have shown in patches this season that games like this are well within their compass and they may well sneak all three points.
Bournemouth v Leicester
Home 2.30 - Draw 3.25 - Away 2.88 - BEST BET
Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.93
Correct Score | Draw 1-1 @ 6.00
After picking up seven points from their opening three games the Cherries suffered their first defeat of the season last time out at Stamford Bridge losing 2-0 against hosts Chelsea.
Bournemouth had decent chances when the game was poised at 0-0 but they failed to convert and eventually suffered the consequences but they will take a few positives from the game for sure.
After back to back wins Leicester took on Liverpool at home last time out in a bid to make it three on the spin, in a tight game it was the away team who prevailed winning 2-1 and taking all three points
Leicester sit mid-table after two wins and two losses and all in all they will be pretty happy with six points from the opponents they have played to date.
Verdict - Two evenly matched teams on what we have seen so far this season, both can win it if at their best but a draw looks the best option here.
Chelsea v Cardiff
Home 1.15 - Draw 6.80 - Away 15.00
Under 3.5 Goals @ 1.57
Correct Score | Chelsea 3-0 @ 5.80
Chelsea maintained their 100% record by beating Bournemouth 2-0 at Stamford Bridge last time out making it four wins from four games for their new manager Maurizio Sarri and they now it second in the table.
Pedro and Eden Hazard scored late for Chelsea after the away team squandered some decent chances when the game was still at 0-0, not the best performance from Chelsea but they took the three points none the less.
Cardiff after two consecutive draws took on Arsenal at home last time out and although acquitting themselves well they eventually went down 3-2 after coming from behind twice during the game.
Two points from their opening four fixtures sees The Bluebirds down in 16th and they may well find themselves in the bottom three if they fail to pick up any points here.
Verdict - Chelsea should have too much across the park for Cardiff and they should make it five from five here.
Man City v Fulham
Home 1.09 - Draw 9.00 - Away 23.00
Under 3.5 Goals @ 1.90
Correct Score | Man City 3-0 @ 6.80
After dropping their first points of the season against Wolves Man City got back to winning ways last time out when they beat Newcastle 2-1 at the Etihad thanks to strikes from Raheem Stirling and Kyle Walker.
City's performance as the score suggests wasn't one of their best but they did enough and picked up all three points and they move up to 4th in the table off the back of the win.
Fulham after securing their first win back in the EPL headed to Brighton's Amex Stadium last time out looking to pick up their first away points of the season and they did just that coming away with a 2-2 draw.
After taking a 2-0 lead Fulham will be disappointed that they didn't come away with all three points but any away point in the EPL especially for teams in the bracket of Fulham should be looked upon as a point gained.
Verdict - Man City will be looking to dominate from the off and if they score early this could well be a cricket score, the home team should win comfortably.
Watford v Man Utd
Home 4.00 - Draw 3.40 - Away 1.83
Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.95
Correct Score | Draw 2-2 @ 13.00
Watford who had also started the season off well winning their opening three fixtures had their first real test of the season last time out when Spurs came to town and they passed with flying colours with a 2-1 win.
Tottenham took the lead just before the hour mark via a Doucouré own goal but Watford dug and hit back with a Troy Deeney equaliser with 20 minutes to go, a Craig Cathcart header with ten minutes to go won it for Watford who now sit third on the table.
Man Utd after losing back to back games against Spurs and Brighton headed off to Turf Moor last time out and although less than convincing they righted the ship winning 2-0 thanks to a brace of goals from Romelu Lukaku.
Paul Pogba missed a second half penalty and Marcus Rashford saw red with 20 minutes to go after headbutting Phil Bardsley and will miss several key games with suspension, three points gained but once again the United players came under scrutiny.
Verdict - You would normally lock United in for three points in a fixture like this but Watford have already shown they can mix it with the big boys and I expect them to get at least a point here also.
Wolves v Burnley
Home 1.72 - Draw 3.30 - Away 4.90
Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.58 - BEST BET
Correct Score | Wolves 1-0 @ 6.00
Wolves have started the season well picking up five points from their opening four games and they will feel that they possibly should have had a few more due to some decent performances.
They picked up their first win of the season last time out when Adama Traore scored in the 93rd minute winner in a close game, they will be looking for their first home win of the season here.
Burnley are struggling at the bottom of the table after picking up one point from their opening four fixtures, they suffered their third straight defeat last time out losing at home to Man Utd 2-0.
Sean Dyche and his team are now out of Europe and that should help them in the EPL, they will be looking for their first win of the season here but they may find things tough against a decent looking Wolves outfit.
Verdict - I expect Wolves to pick up their first home win of the season here against a team that has struggled to find the net this season.
MONDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER 2018
Everton v West Ham
Home 1.86 - Draw 3.45 - Away 3.85
Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.78
Correct Score | Everton 3-1 @ 12.00
Everton took on Huddersfield at home last time out and in a game they would expect to win they could only manage a 1-1 draw, they did come from behind the rescue a point but they will feel it was two points dropped.
Everton sit 7th on the table and are still unbeaten this season, they have been a little shaky in defence and will need to improve in that department if they are to seriously challenge for a top six finish.
West Ham took on Wolves at the London Stadium looking to pick up their first points of the season last time and things looked good heading to injury time only for Wolves to snatch it late 1-0.
West Ham sit bottom of the table after losing all their opening four fixtures, will the Hammers give new manager Manuel Pellegrini time to turn things around or will he be the first managerial casualty this season?
Verdict - The jury is still out on whether Everton are a top six team but they should have the measure of their opponents at home.
TUESDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER 2018
Southampton v Brighton
Home 2.00 - Draw 3.10 - Away 3.70
Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.61
Correct Score | Southampton 1-1 @ 5.80 - BEST BET
Mark Hughes's Southampton picked up their first win of the season last time out beating Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park, second half goals from Danny Ings and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg sealed the win for the Saints.
After last seasons relegation battle Southampton will be looking for a mid-table finish this season at worst, games like this will be the key especially on home turf.
Brighton came from two goals down at the Amex Stadium last time out against Fulham to secure a point thanks to two goals from striker Glenn Murray to leave the home fans satisfied by the days proceedings.
The have started the season off moderately and sit 14th but if they could snag all three points here they would move up significantly, well within them to get something from this game if they play well.
Verdict - Both teams have been mediocre this season and this one looks to have draw written all over it.
