THURSDAY 10TH MAY 2018
Tigers 2.18 v Cowboys 1.70
TIP - Under 38.5 Points @ 1.90
TIP - Cowboys 1-12 @ - 3.25
After an impressive start to the season the Tigers have now lost three games on the spin, the Tigers were never in the game last week against the Warriors with the final score being 26-4.
Wests now sit 5-4 for the season which is currently good enough for 7th on the ladder but there are several teams stacked up behind them so they will have to find that winning touch once again soon.
The Cowboys got their season back on track last week when they beat the Panthers on the road 26-20 thanks to an impressive first half performance which saw them run in three tries.
Although the Panthers came back at them the Cowboys held their nerve to take the valuable two points. They have been sub par this season and last weeks win may well be the start of better things to come.
Verdict - With the Tigers outs of sorts it may well be worth siding with the Cowboys after lasts weeks confidence boosting win.
FRIDAY 11TH MAY 2018
Knights 2.25 v Panthers 1.66
TIP - Over 40.5 Points @ 1.90 - BEST BET
TIP - Panthers 1-12 @ 3.20
Newcastle started poorly last week and conceded two tries inside the opening five minutes which put them on the back foot throughout the game against the Rabbitohs who took full advantage of the Knights errors.
The game eventually finished 36-18 in the Rabbitohs favour condemning the Knights to their fourth loss of the season and they now sit outside the top eight in tenth position.
Although the Panthers had a tough assignment last week most would have expected them to take the points against the Cowboys but they could not reproduce their recent efforts and eventually went down 26-20.
The loss drops Penrith down to third on the ladder and with seven teams only two points adrift they will want to get back to winning ways here in a match they would expect to win.
Verdict - Expect the Panthers to bounce back here and take the points in a very open affair, should be plenty of tries in this one.
Bulldogs 2.00 v Eels 1.82
TIP - Over 36.5 Points @ 1.90
TIP - Bulldogs 1-12 @ 3.10
The Bulldogs looked all but home in last weeks game against the Broncos but a late conceded try and a Broncos converted penalty in the last minute cost them the game which finished 22-20.
The Bulldogs will feel that they did enough throughout during the game to take the two points and if they can reproduce that performance here they may well get their season back on track.
Parramatta after conceding three tries inside the first half hour against the Sharks last week were always going to struggle to take anything from the game but they did rally in the last ten minutes to pull within two points of their rivals.
The game finished 22-20 in the Sharks favour but the Eels will be pleased in the manor they finished they game off and they will feel a better start this week could see them win and move off the bottom of the ladder.
Verdict - A game that could go either way and it may well be the first out of the gate wins this one, home advantage just sways me in favour of the Bulldogs.
SATURDAY 12TH MAY 2018
Warriors 1.75 v Roosters 2.10
TIP - Under 38.5 Points @ 1.90
TIP - Warriors 1-12 @ 3.00
After being hammered on the road by the Storm in round 8 the Warriors made full use of home advantage last week dispatching the Tigers with ease 26-4.
That victory moves the Warriors back up to second on the ladder and they will feel that they can make it two on the bounce in front of their home crowd once again.
The Roosters did well to come back last week against the Eagles after conceding two tries inside the opening ten minutes to take the game 22-20.
The win puts them 5-4 for the season and in 6th on the ladder but they are still yet to show last seasons form this season which will be a concern.
Verdict - With home advantage it may well be prudent to side with the Warriors once again but this one could go either way, the start will be crucial here.
Storm 1.18 v Titans 5.00
TIP - Under 46.5 Points @ 1.90
TIP - Storm 13+ @ 1.72 - BEST BET
After the Storm thrashed the Warriors in round 8 you would have expected them to put up a better showing against the Dragons last week but they were out of sorts and they were soundly beaten 34-14.
Melbourne paid for their poor discipline throughout the game as the Dragons converted five penalties during the game. The Storm are not used to getting beaten so comprehensively and may well take it out on their opposition here.
Gold Coast came out of the blocks slowly last week against the Raiders conceding four tries inside the first twenty five minutes and although they performed better in the second half the game was already over with the Raiders taking the game 32-18.
That's four losses on the trot now for the Titans and their good start to the season has already been undone, a win is now imperative if they are to keep pace with the top eight.
Verdict - Has to be a home win for the Storm here and they may well run in 5+ tries here with the Titans Struggling.
Eagles 2.55 v Broncos 1.53
TIP - Over 42.5 Points @ 1.90
TIP - Broncos 13+ @ 2.75
The Eagles have now lost all five games on the road this season after going down to the Roosters 22-20 last week after leading early 10-0 after two tries inside the first ten minutes.
A few positives can be taken from the game in the fact that they kept their opposition to three tries and they didn't get flogged as they have done several times on the road this season.
Brisbane will think themselves lucky to take the points last week in their 22-20 victory over the Bulldogs after snatching the two points in the last minute after they were awarded a controversial penalty which was duly converted.
Two wins on the spin sees the Broncos move up to ninth on the ladder with ten points along with six other teams, another win here will surely put them inside the top eight.
Verdict - The Broncos should have too much for the Eagles and should come away with the two points in an open game.
SUNDAY 13TH MAY 2018
Rabbitohs 2.70 v Dragons 1.48 - BEST BET
TIP - Over 40.5 Points @ 1.90
TIP - Dragons 13+ @ 2.63
The Rabbitohs move to fifth on the ladder after an impressive win on the road last week beating the Knights with something in hand 36-18.
Two tries inside the first five minutes set the Rabbitohs on their way and they controlled the game thereafter and never looked in danger.
St George made light work of the Storm at home last week in one of their best performances of the season with the Dragons eventually winning 34-14.
The Dragons have only played three on the road this season losing once which is their only loss to date but I expect them to continue their impressive start to 2018 once again with a win here.
Verdict - After last weeks performance against the Storm you wouldn't want to bet against the Dragons any time soon and they should make it three on the spin here.
Raiders 1.56 v Sharks 2.45
TIP - Under 40.5 Points @ 1.90
TIP - Raiders 1-12 @ 3.10
Canberra backed up their impressive away win against the Cowboys in round 8 last week with a 32-18 home victory against the Titans in a game they never looked like losing after scoring four tries inside 22 minutes.
The Raiders after their poor start find themselves only two points behind the top eight now and another win here could see them move up a few places from 11th on the ladder.
Cronulla made it three on the spin last week when they defeated the Eels 22-20, the Sharks took the early advantage and had a clear lead going into the last ten minutes but after switching off they conceding three quick tries to give the Eels a chance.
Luckily for the Sharks Mitchell Moses missed with his conversion in the dying seconds after he himself went over for a try to give Cronulla the win.
Verdict - Both teams are in relatively good form so it could be a close encounter, slight preference is for the Raiders who are the home team but the Sharks could easily take the spoils.
