NRL Tips Round 15 2018
Thursday 14th June 2018
Eels 3.40 v Rabbitohs 1.30
TIP - Over 44.5 Points @ 1.88
TIP - Rabbitohs 13+ @ 2.15
A much needed win last weekend for the Eels when they defeated the Cowboys 20-14 in front of a home crowd at the Tio Stadium, after a close first half Parramatta came out firing in the second scoring two quick tries and always looked like winning thereafter.
Still only three wins this season for the Eels and they still find themselves at the bottom of the ladder but at least they have stopped the rot, for now!!
Souths maintained their good recent form winning once more to stretch their winning streak to six when they defeated the Titans last week 18-16.
The game was close throughout with both teams swapping tries during the game with the difference being a converted penalty just after half time.
Verdict - Has to be the Bunnies here, they are really digging deep this season when they need to and when they get things right they are a joy to watch.
Friday 15th June 2018
Cowboys 2.00 v Warriors 1.77
TIP - Under 39.5 Points @ 1.88
TIP - Warriors 1-12 @ 2.95
After gaining a much needed win in round 13 the Cowboys travelled south to face the struggling Eels last weekend in a must win game to get their season back on track.
Once again they put in another under par performance losing the game 20-14 which will be a big blow for all concerned in their bid to gain ground on the teams above them.
The Warriors after having a week off looked fresh last week when beating the Eagles 34-14 on the road and showed the same same promise as they did at the start of the season.
The break obviously did them the world of good and if they reproduce that form for a few weeks they will be challenging for top spot once again.
Verdict - The Warriors when on song are a real danger to anyone and they looked good last week so preference is for them with the Cowboys struggling.
Sydney 1.90 v Penrith 1.90
TIP - Over 37.5 Points @ 1.88
TIP - Sydney 1-12 @ 2.95
The Roosters are finding their feet at the right time of the season which may well bode well for them in their bid to go all the way this season.
Last weeks win against the Knights stretches their recent record to 4-1 which will give them the confidence to finish the season off strong.
Penrith weren't at their best last weekend when taking on the Raiders but they did manage to come away with the points in a nail biting affair that finished 23-22.
Always chasing the game the Panthers showed that they can dig deep when they need too in close games and that's a good sign.
Verdict - Should be the game of the round and may well be a close one, I will take the Roosters to halt the Panthers here due to their advantage of being at home.
Saturday 16th June 2018
Bulldogs 1.70 v Titans 2.10
TIP - Under 42 Points @ 1.88
TIP - Bulldogs 1-12 @ 3.00
It really has not been the Bulldogs year with so many games lost by small margins things could have been very different if even half of them had gone in their favour.
Last week was the same old story when they lost 18-16 against the Dragons and they find themselves fighting to keep their season alive.
The Gold Coast Titans suffered another defeat last weekend losing out to the Rabbitohs 18-16 condemning them to their third loss in four outings.
Although they lost last weekends contest they will take a few positives from the game and they will hope to take another step forward this week in a bid to get back to winning ways.
Verdict - This will no doubt be another close affair as most Bulldogs games are but hopefully they will come out on the right side this week and take the two points.
Dragons 1.34 v Eagles 3.10
TIP - Over 41.5 Points @ 1.88
TIP - Dragons 13+ @ 2.20
The Dragons were not at their best last week but they managed to take home the bacon in a low scoring affair against the Bulldogs beating them 18-16.
That win took the Dragons back to the top of the ladder but it cannot get any tighter between the top two with only one point separating them in the for and against column.
The Eagles suffered another heavy loss last weekend when the Warriors came to town and took them apart beating them 34-14.
A poor second half performance by Manly was the difference as they conceded four tries, the loss sees them fall to 13th on the ladder and in real trouble.
Verdict - Should be a Dragons win here and after failing to fire last week they may well put in a better display this weekend and put more points on the board.
Sharks 1.55 v Broncos 2.40
TIP - Over 38 Points @ 1.88
TIP - Sharks 1-12 @ 3.10
After losing to the Bunnies in round 13 the Sharks bounced back last weekend beating the Tigers 24-16 thanks to a second half blitz in which they scored four tries.
The win keeps them in the hunt with only four points between themselves and top spot so if they can string another few wins together they can push for a top four spot.
Brisbane had a tough assignment last weekend travelling down to Melbourne to face the Storm after several players were engaged in Origin duties.
They took a 12-8 lead into the half time break but the Storm turned up the heat in the second half and ran out worthy winners 32-16.
Verdict - I expect this to be close throughout but the Sharks have been playing well and with home ground advantage they can take the points here.
Sunday 17th June 2018
Newcastle 3.50 v Storm 1.28
TIP - Over 42 Points @ 1.88
TIP - Storm 1-12 @ 3.30
Newcastle suffered another loss last weekend losing out in a close game to the Roosters 18-16, it was their fourth loss from their last five games.
The Knights after a poor run of results find themselves down to 11th on the ladder and four points behind 8th place so a win is much needed here.
Melbourne move up to fifth on the ladder after beating the Broncos last weekend 32-16, trailing at the half time interval the Storm turned on the style in the second half looking more like the team that dominated last season.
Although they have lost five this year they are still only four points off top spot and if any team can get on a run to the end of the season it's the Storm.
Verdict - The Knights have been struggling at home this season winning only twice so preference is for the Storm to make it back to back wins.
Tigers 1.67 v Raiders 2.15
TIP - Over 39.5 Points @ 1.88
TIP - Raiders 1-12 @ 3.30
After losing a close game against the Roosters in round 13 the Tigers headed to the Southern Cross Group Stadium to take on the Sharks last weekend in a bid get their season back on track.
After taking a 10-2 lead into the half time break the Tigers failed to reproduce their solid defensive efforts in the second half conceding four tries losing the game 24-16.
Canberra not for the first time this season suffered a close call defeat last weekend when the Panthers beat them 23-22 after a late Nathan Cleary field goal.
Although they have lost three of their last four they are still in the mix only four points off 8th place so a few wins on the spin could see them move up the ranks.
Verdict - Although the Raiders have only won once away all season I think they are more than capable of winning this one on the road.
