A few shocks in round one as we saw the Roosters go down against the Tigers and The Warriors got off to a winning start away against The Rabbitohs. Melbourne continued where they left off last season running in six tries on their way to a comfortable 36-18 win over the Bulldogs. Last Weeks NRL Tips - Betting Man
A mixed bag in round 1 which you would expect as there is no form to go on as such, hopefully in round two we can add a few more winners.
If any one backed our best bet last week I am sure you will be seething at that result, typical Raiders performance, brilliant in patches and fell asleep for the rest.

NRL Tips For This Weekend Round 2 2018

THURSDAY 15TH MARCH
Sharks 1.71 v Dragons 2.15 - Solid Bet
TIP - Under 37.5 points @ 1.9
Cronulla gave the Cowboys a real run for their money last week eventually going down 20-14.
We will knot know the extent of that performance so early in the season but The Cowboys are always rock solid at home so to get within six points looks a fair effort.
The Dragons got off to the best possible start against the Broncos running in five tries in their 34-12 victory.
If they can reproduce that sort of effort here they will have a great chance of making it two from two but they are on the road this week so things may be different.
Verdict - I feel the Sharks played well enough in defeat last week against one of the favourites for the Premiership and now at home they can get their first points of the season.
FRIDAY 16TH MARCH
Roosters 1.30 v Bulldogs 3.50 - Value Bet
TIP - Over 43.5 points @ 1.9
The Roosters were on the wrong end of a close encounter against The Tigers in round one going down 10-8 in a tough match.
The Rooster looked like they were going to hang on for victory but a late try in the 77th minute sealed their fate and they will have to improve this week if they are to bounce back.
The Bulldogs although getting thumped by the Storm in their opening game looked like a decent team in patches and I have a feeling that they will improve on last weeks performance here.
It will be interesting to see if they learned anything from last weeks game and can sure up their defence a little, attacking wise they are a good unit.
Verdict - With both teams losing last week there is not much to go on but the Bulldogs are great value for two teams that lost their opening match so preference is for them.
Broncos 2.40 v Cowboys 1.58
TIP - Over 37.5 points @ 1.9 - Best Bet
SATURDAY 17TH MARCH
Warriors 1.35 v Titans 3.21 - Best Bet
TIP - Under 45.5 points @ 1.9
The Warriors got off to the perfect start winning their opening game 32-20 against the Eels. The victory will be all the more pleasing for the team due to their poor away record in recent seasons.
If the Warriors can start to win on the road regularly then who knows what this season could hold.
The Titans looked for all money dead and buried in their first game against the Raiders after going 18-0 down within the first ten minutes.
The Titans though stuck to their game plan and somehow managed to come away with the points after scoring a late try which was duly converted.
Verdict - If the Warriors put in the same effort as they did in round 1 then I think they will be too strong for the Titans who usually also do not travel too well.
Panthers 1.45 v Rabbitohs 2.76
TIP - Over 42.5 points @ 1.9
Penrith got off to a great start in round one winning their opening fixture against the Eels 24-14 but they were made to work for their victory after going 14-0 down inside the first half hour.
After their initial slow start it was all the Panthers as they pilled on the pressure which eventually told as the Eels just couldn't cope with their attacking prowess.
South Sydney after scoring the first try last week were soon behind and by half time they were always going to be up against it as the Warriors turned on the style and ripped the Rabbitohs defence to shreads.
The Rabbitohs will have to go back to the drawing board for this game as they encounter another free flowing attacking side who can steam roll any team when they get things right.
Verdict - Has to be a Panthers win for me, they looked like an outfit that are ready to give the league a real shake up this season and as I said in my blog article the other day they look a good rice this season for the title
Storm 1.17 v Wests Tigers 5.10
TIP - Under 43.5 points @ 1.9
Melbourne once again have put a marker down in round one to the other teams with their impressive performance against the Bulldogs resulting in an 36-18 victory.
Their tough, talented and hungry which makes for a good team and they will be looking to keep the momentum up once again this week.
The Tigers would have been happy as Larry at the end of their game against the Roosters after pulling off the shock of the round turning Sydney over 10-8.
It will be interesting to see here if that was a bad Roosters performance or a great Tigers effort and if it was the latter then this game may be closer than predicted.
Verdict - Storm at home after a great effort last week you cannot really go against them, well you would be a fool if you did anyway.
SUNDAY 18TH MARCH
Eagles 1.81 v Eels 2.00
TIP - Under 41.5 points @ 1.9
Manly had a ding dong battle with the Nights in their opening game only to go down on the golden point rule in a scrappy game filled with errors.
If the Eagles can keep the ball better you might see a completely different team through the rest of the season but they will need to improve on last weeks effort.
The Eels couldn't live with the Panthers after the half hour mark in their first round game and going down.
Leading 14-0 after 25 minutes things were looking rosy for the Eels but things soon started to unravel thereafter and they found themselves playing catch up after half time.
Verdict - This one could be a tight affair as both teams showed potential in round one but in games like this it is always best to plump for the home side who have the slight advantage.
Raiders 1.68 v Knights 2.20
TIP - Under 46.5 points @ 1.9
What you see is what you get with the Raiders unfortunately and this season judging on their opening game in going to be the same old story.
In patches they look a million dollars and then they fall asleep for half the game as was the case against the Titans in round one after blowing a 18-0 lead.
Newcastle just managed to take the points in round 1 after a golden point field goal by new boy Mitchell Peirce saw them edge a scrappy affair against the Eagles 19-18.
The Knights will have to cut out the errors and find a way to stop the Raiders from scoring if they are to have a chance here.
Verdict - I think the Raiders are as good a team as any going forward but they need defend better if they are to pick up points but after their showing last week I think they will win this one.
